CoughTracker is a helpful tool for individuals experiencing coughs, which is a common symptom that often prompts a visit to a healthcare provider. Powered by Hyfe and backed by funding and support from Merck & Co, Inc. in Rahway, New Jersey, USA, CoughTracker utilizes artificial intelligence to monitor cough frequency and detect cough trends.

Using innovative technology, CoughTracker identifies explosive sounds that could potentially indicate a cough. These sounds are carefully analyzed and, once confirmed as coughs, recorded on your personal dashboard. Through the app, you can easily track the number of times you cough and when these episodes occur. The app continuously captures short audio samples – approximately half a second each – whenever it detects a cough-like sound. Although these samples do not contain contextual information, they are long enough to determine the presence of a cough.

As a user of CoughTracker, you have full control over the information you choose to share. Any data you agree to share is anonymized to ensure there is no identifiable link between individuals and their collected data.

It is important to note that the accuracy of the data collected and presented by CoughTracker has not been evaluated by the FDA. Therefore, it should not be used for medical decision-making purposes or presented to healthcare professionals as part of managing cough-related symptoms or conditions.
